What is new about the P.G.R. Series Trucks

The long anticipated wait is over – read about the new trucks and what they have to offer.

What is new about the P.G.R. Series trucks?

The long anticipated wait is over! There are many enhancements with the new Trucks, here we will tell you about a few.

The interior design is cleaner providing the driver with more space and a wider bed for comfortable sleeping. The cab has improved control in the steering wheel as well as better ergonomics. It is also easier to enter the cab with better boarding steps and the trucks have flexible passenger seats.

The control unit has been improved with smarter software, providing better performance uphill and enabling tractors to change starting gear automatically depending on load. The gear changing control and retarder are mounted in the same lever on the steering coloum and the starting gear can be locked.

There is also more integrated functionality - Power Electronics instead of relays and more contact free sensor technology. The trucks have higher quality connectors, Multi-core cables and LED in instruments and switches. The new trucks are prepared for easier electric body work adaptation, easier diagnostics and are prepared for an On Board Computer System.

As for the exterior, the tail lamp has been improved for better visibility. The bonnet opens for easier access to the radiator compartment.

From a safety perspective, the EBS has been improved as well as the instrument cluster which gives full control to the driver.

The up-time, the most important factor for all fleet operators, has been enhanced and experienced workshop managers have influenced the design so that repairs can be better carried out. New improvements have been made to the vehicles to avoid clogged air filters, improve reliability of slave cylinders, less wear on belt tensioners and less leakage in gear boxes.

Something that is also important with this new design is the modularisation of the vehicles. Even though we are selling many different ranges and vehicle types, the parts are often the same. This enables Scania Truck Namibia to keep fewer parts in stock but to keep on giving you the higher service level.

We can go on forever about these new trucks – please contact our sales staff for more details about the needs that you have and how these trucks can satisfy them.
