OBM Recieves New Scania 420

OBM Transport of Otjiwarongo Namibia took delivery of a new Scania truck tractor with 420hp. The company is owned and managed by two brothers, Hotti and Hein Giersch who transport mainly livestock from Namibia to South Africa using purposed build trailers.

Reliability and operational cost is important to OBM and their 2003 model Scania proved just that. When it comes to replacing the Giersch brothers looked at options in the market, while also operating other brands in their company, their decision came to Scania again. Truck Namibia is one of the few heavy vehicle distributors in Namibia able to trade in used vehicles, an added benefit for customers seeking replacements.

OBM’s new Scania R420 is a “Namibian-spec” vehicle boosting high-profile bullbar with additional night driving lamps and windscreen stone guard. The vehicle is also fitted with a FMS300 tracking system to monitor vehicle and driver behavior while under warranty.
